As Hodgins (TJ Thyne) deals with the knowledge that he may never walk again in the upcoming second half of "Bones" season 11, he will be getting a lot of help from the person he owes his life from.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the specialist will be pushing a lot of people away from him out of fear of being pitied, but not Aubrey (John Boyd). The latter will reportedly be an integral part in Hodgins' recovery and acceptance of the accident that robbed him of his ability to walk. During the midseason finale, an explosion resulted in Hodgins being paralyzed from the waist down.

Although Aubrey managed to shield him from most of the blast, his spine got damaged. For his part, Aubrey looked the worse between the two, but he ended up doing fine after several days in the hospital. When the series returns, viewers can expect that Hodgins will have a hard time dealing with his predicament. Executive producer Michael Peterson said in his interview that Hodgins would feel a certain affinity with Aubrey.

"Aubrey's going to be integral to the Hodgins arc. Certainly, he knows that he is the one who threw him out of the way... Eventually, he will be instrumental in helping Hodgins gain perspective. You allow the person to have those grieving moments, but at the exact same time, he's alive, surrounded by friends. Life is good still," Peterson shared.

Meanwhile, Hodgins' wife Angela (Michaela Conlin) will have difficulty getting along with a taciturn husband. TV Guide reports that this is his way of coping with the fact that he could not give her the child that she wanted. The pair was planning to have kids prior to the explosion. With Hodgins paralyzed, he feels useless and grieves that he cannot give the one thing Angela wants the most. Things will reportedly get so bad between them, that Angela will be seeking comfort from photographer Sebastian Kohl (Gil Darnell).

Bones" season 11 is expected to return in 2016, but FOX has yet to announce a specific return date.
