Bono Supports Education for Millions of African Children
|PIC1|U2 frontman Bono is supporting a campaign to bring education services to millions of children in Africa.
The Irish rock star, who is an avid supporter of anti-poverty projects, has lent his stardom to the project in the hope that it will highlight the cause.
Joined by US presidential hopeful Hilary Clinton, Bono is pushing for new legislation that would increase free basic education across the world.
The Education For All project proposes that $10m be invested into a global fund.
Bono recently received an honorary knighthood from the Queen, but said he didn't want to be called "Sir Bono".
The singer was given the honour during a brief ceremony at the official Dublin residence of British ambassador David Reddaway. The rocker, like Bob Geldof, is technically not entitled to be called "Sir" as he is not a British citizen.
