Borderlands 2 PlayStation Vita release date in Europe May 28; North American gamers getting it May 13

Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation Vita version of Borderlands 2 will be coming out in PAL territories on May 28.

The popular shooter RPG will also be out on in the US on Sony's portable games machines there from May 13, reports PlayStation Universe.

It was also be part of a PS Vita Slim package.

PlayStationLifestyle reports that gamers in North America will get the game on May 13.

A Playstation rep has reportedly told fans via the GearboxSoftware forum that a patch will be available from May 13 allowing gamers to carry over their progress on the PS Vita and vice versa. 

PlayStationUniverse reports that in addition to the full game, gamers would also be able to enjoy six downloadable content packs on the Vita version, as well as support for the touchscreen and rear touchpad.

The DLCs include:

  • Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty
  • Mr Tongue's Campaign of Carnage
  • Psycho Character Class
  • Mechromancer Character Class
  • Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1
  • Collector's Edition Pack

It's already been five years since the original Borderlands hit the gaming world with the Vault Hunters, Roland, Mordecai, Lilith and Brick. 

It was a surprise hit, shifting around four and a half million units since its release.
