The previous chapters of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" is setting up the manga for an action-packed arc while making sure that the audience understands that it will be a relatively different story from its predecessor, "Naruto." Given the tone that the Japanese comic has taken, will chapter 13 offer new insights on how Boruto's story will be different from his father's?

In chapter 11 of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations," titled "A New Mission," fans are introduced to the new antagonist named, Shojoji. He has the ability into turn the people he has killed as well as access their abilities and memories. His fighting capabilities are also shown to be at a level where no one should underestimate him. Given the seemingly exaggerated abilities of Shojoji, it looks like Boruto will be participating in a fight that is well beyond his abilities.

The following chapter titled "Friends" centered on Boruto and Tentou's relationship. The daimyo's son dreams of being a ninja in order to get his father to notice him. In the final episodes of "Naruto," fans saw that Boruto actually had the same issues. Being the son of a high profile, well-known and loved Hokage was difficult mainly because Naruto barely had enough time to spend with him.

However, in "Friends," it seems like Boruto has matured as he shared his experiences with Tentou during an exhausting shuriken training. The Geekiary hypothesized that this might come in handy if they do confront Shojoji, who has managed to successfully infiltrate Konoha. With Tentou as his target, it's not far off to expect that he and Boruto will cross paths in an action-packed chapter.

With all protagonists known and the antagonist introduced, the first 12 chapters of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" feels like a setup for all that is to come. Chapter 13 will most likely focus on Shojoji and Boruto and how their ideals may be similar or different from each other. In the anticipated confrontation, Tentou might even show off his skills after being subjected to Boruto's training schedule.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" chapter 13 will be released on June 3, in the 27th issue of "Weekly Shounen Jump."
