It is getting clearer that "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" is about to enter a new story arc in the coming weeks — as evident by the latest development in the previous episodes. To recall, the spin-off anime series' titular character is struggling along with other young ninjas of Konoha to pass the final test before the graduation. In episode 38, it is expected that Boruto will make his first step in becoming a full-fledged ninja as he is teamed up with other aspiring Genins.

As reported by Comic Book, "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 38, titled "Formation, Three Man Cells...?" will continue to feature the young ninjas working hard before they can finally step out of the academy. A test will split the exam takers into basic groups, which will offer a glimpse of how real ninjas operate in the outside world. Boruto wants to be included in the group of his close friend, Shikadai, but the latter has already teamed up with Inojin and Chocho.

In the end, Boruto will be assigned to a group along with the other passers, Sarada and Mitsuki. At this point, some fans who have already watched the first "Boruto" movie are aware that Naruto's son would team up with his classmates under the supervision of Konohamaru. Based on the episode 38 spoilers, Boruto's group will be able to pass the exam, which will earn them the title of Genin.

In other news, it is expected that the last episode of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" before the end of 2017 will be focused on Mitsuki. The title of the episode, "The Path Illuminated by the Full Moon," implies that the events will be based on the short manga of the same name. This episode will tell the story of the mysterious young ninja from his origin in the Hidden Sound Village. It is uncertain if there will be more episodes dedicated to Mitsuki after this episode, although it is possible that the manga's story arc will cover more than one.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 38 will be released in Japan on Dec. 20.
