'Boruto: Naruto the Movie 2' details to be unveiled in April alongside new 'Boruto' manga

According to a report from Design and Trend, fans can look forward to news regarding "Boruto: Naruto the Movie 2" sometime this April now that the "Naruto Shippuden: The True Legend of Itachi" mini-series has been released. According to the report, a manga focusing solely on Boruto and his group will premiere this spring as well.

Last year it was expected that the studios and "Naruto" series creator Masashi Kishimoto will move forward with "Boruto: Naruto the Movie 2" given how successful the first film has become. However, as pointed out by a report from Cross Map, this was delayed to give the spotlight to the Itachi-centered mini-series.

With the mini-series done and out of the way, it is likely the studios will put out information regarding the "Boruto" sequel in April but that doesn't necessarily mean the film is coming out any time soon unless development has been ongoing for the past few months, simultaneously with the "Itachi" series.

However, this Spring will see something "Boruto" related coming out on store shelves as the "Next Generation" manga is set to launch. Unlike the previous "Naruto" and "Naruto Shippuden" series, which were released on a weekly basis, this one will only launch once every month.

Kishimoto will supervise the manga but will not be entirely hands-on on the project. Working on the script is Ukyo Kodachi while the artwork will be done by Kishimoto's assistant who also worked on the original series, Mikio Ikemoto. It is important to note that this is the same team that worked for the first "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" film.

It is speculated by fans that the new manga series will lay the groundwork for the second film, which may be released before the end of the year. Many speculate that an early teaser trailer may be released alongside the first issue of "Next Generation" as part of the celebration of the new series.
