Last month, "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" was officially released in Japan, and fans worldwide are eagerly waiting for its global release. According to the schedule by publisher and distributor Viz Media, the movie will have its official North American release next month in almost 83 movie theaters. Although "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" is expected to have a strong opening on its global release, Viz Media and distributor Eleven Arts have a strong competitor in sales – torrent downloads. 

Reports indicate that bootleg copies of the film have been making their way online through different websites. Although downloaders may just be casual film and manga fans and not the hardcore "Naruto" buffs, pirated copies of the film still spell a factor for a decline in sales. It was unclear if the copies of the latest "Naruto" movie found online already have their subtitles or not. 

In Japan, "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" gave a strong opening when it was released last Aug. 7, reportedly making a total of 680 million Yen or $5.46 million during its 3-day opening run. Meanwhile, Anime News Network has reported that during its 19-day showing, it raked in a total of more than 2 billion Yen or more than 1.5 million ticket sales. This makes "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" the top-grossing "Naruto" movie to date, toppling the previous record held by "The Last: Naruto the Movie." 

Although fans know that the film is centered on Boruto, Uzumaki Naruto's son with Hyuga Hinata, details were scarce prior to the Japan release. However, now that pirated copies already surfaced online, spoilers also abound. 

In "Boruto: Naruto the Movie," fans will see Boruto and Naruto together with Uchiha Sasuke and his daughter Sarada battling it out with the Otsutsuki Clan's Kinshiki and Momoshiki, the latter being a direct descendant of an ancient clan with Princess Kaguya as its leader. Hardcore fans of the series know that Kaguya is the main antagonist that Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura defeated in the main "Naruto" manga series.
