JaVale Mcgee, the subject of various potential signings before the NBA Trade deadline lapsed back in February is still on the radar of one team interested in signing him up – the Boston Celtics.

McGee finished the current season as a free agent but it seems the Celtics haven't scratched out the athletic center from their plans. And from the looks of it, both parties will once again be sitting down in the offseason and hopefully something will be struck.

McGee was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers last February 19 by the Denver Nuggets but was later on released. His availability drew the interest of the Celtics at that time but unfortunately nothing materialized.

Aside from the Celtics, McGee is being considered by multiple teams as well. Among the teams who were also interested in acquiring the services of the 7-footer at that time were the Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors.

For now, it remains to be seen if other teams would show vested interest on McGee once free agency kicks off this July.

Reports have it that McGee and the Celtics were at odds on the contract control, stalling negotiations and leaving McGee unsigned and the Celtics moving on. Apparently it seems that the same issue became the reason why McGee was never signed.

This time however, it becomes a totally new scenario though it wouldn't be surprising if McGee ends up asking for a multiyear deal which could get teams (including the Celtics) thinking once again.

McGee has been known to be a defensive demon armed and gifted with athletic talent. His bout with injuries have however become a cause for concern, hence a probably reason why teams are apprehensive of signing him to a long-term deal.
