Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will face off against Miguel Cotto on Nov. 21. That much can be said leaving only the venue up for resolution.

According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, both camps are on the final stages of the much-awaited tiff and the only thing that needs to be settled is where the fight will take place.

The date of the bout has apparently opened a lot of issues. Such include availability.

The MGM Grand Garden would have been sufficient to stage the Alvarez vs. Cotto tiff but the thing is that the Nov. 21 date has been booked for another event.

A change in date, such as to November 7, would have resolved the issue; but the looming possibility of the World Series staging a game 7 brings up some uncertainties.

An alternative venue could be the Mandalay Bay Events Center which can house up to 11,500 people, although a rapid and complete transformation of the venue may be needed since Brazilian singer-songwriter Roberto Carlos will be performing there the night before.

Other than that, the much-awaited clash is practically a done deal with both fighters expected to put on a good show.

Alvarez is coming off an impressive win over James Kirkland last May 9. Meanwhile, Cotto boasts of a fourth round total knockout (TKO) victory over Daniel Geale last June 7.

Alvarez started training as early as June, confident that he would be eventually facing Cotto.

Alvarez holds a 45–1–1 card, with 32 knockout (KO) wins. His lone loss was against Floyd Mayweather Jr. (September 14, 2013). Puerto Rican boxer Cotto, on the other hand, totes a 40–4 card, with 33 of those wins coming via KO.

Cotto's four losses came at the hands of Antonio Margarito (July 26, 2008), Manny Pacquiao (November 14, 2009), Floyd Mayweather Jr. (May 5, 2012), and Austin Trout (December 1, 2012). Since then, Cotto has had three straight wins.
