Boxing rumors 2015: Tyson Fury better off in Ireland than in the United Kingdom

Would lineage be the reason why the hoopla surrounding Tyson Fury hasn't died down to this day?

Fury has placed himself in a very sticky situation after making those sexist remarks, further compounded when the International Boxing Federation (IBF) stripped him of his title. Although the two are unrelated, British boxer Billy Joe Saunders believes that a lot of it has something to do with his background.

While the stripping of the IBF title was done more because Fury made the wrong call (or was it?) of granting Wladimir Klitschko a rematch, the real issue right now are the sexist and homophobic comments he made recently.

Try as he might, the fact remains that people simply cannot understand his stand and why he made the comments. Such is a dark cloud these days on the 27-year-old heavyweight champion whose successful triumph over Klitschko is now overshadowed with the issues after that monumental win.

As far as Saunders is concerned, he believes that Fury would be better off in Ireland than in the United Kingdom. In an article posted at the Express.co.uk, Saunders believes that his background is the reason why people look at him in a different way.

He singles out how the whole British public have been against the brash talking boxer, believing that people over there just simply refuse to respect his beliefs.

"He is going by his beliefs. I have known him for many years. That is Tyson and that is the way that he is," says Saunders.

So would a move to Ireland be the way to go? While the intent is good, it doesn't seem likely that Fury will go that far, well at least not yet. He may be under a lot of heat but is certainly man enough to weather the controversy in more ways than one.

As far as Saunders is concerned, he has better things to worry about like his upcoming match with Andy Lee for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) middleweight title in Manchester this weekend.
