Brandon Heath on married life and what the future holds: 'We're not talking kids quite yet'

Brandon Heath talks about his marriage with Siebe and says that they are in no rush to have kids yet.

Contemporary Christian artist Brandon Heath recently opened about the perfect timing of his marriage and said that he and his wife are not rushing to have kids just yet.

He told Breathecast in an interview that his song "Girl of My Dreams" from the new album No Turning Back is about his love for his wife Siebe, and how their journey together led to marriage.

"I turned 36 over the summer and I just got married and it seems kind of late for somebody to get married but for me it's right on time," he said.

Heath recorded his sixth studio album in Nashville and this gave him the opportunity to retrace his roots with his new bride.

"I brought my wife with me and I wanted her to see it for the first time, what I went through as a kid," he explained. "It was really neat to kind of show her."

Because Siebe gets to tour with him, Heath does not need to worry or miss his wife too much. "It's a weird existence being on the road so much but we have been really blessed. Siebe has been able to come with me on mostly all of my trips," he shared.

At the same time, Heath revealed that he and his wife are taking things one step at a time and are in no rush to have kids. "We're kind of navigating life in general," he said. "We are building a new house, taking one thing at a time, we're not talking kids quite yet. We're enjoying being married."

The singer also talked about other songs from his new album including "Only Just Met You," which is about the first time he accepted Jesus Christ into his life.

Meanwhile, "SOS" is a song written by the record producer Ed Cash, and it was about their younger years and explores feelings of fear and helplessness. "I really wanted to touch on every emotion that I had back when I was in high school," said Heath.

"I think fear kind of leaves us all ineffective. God says it so repeatedly 'do not be afraid' because I think He knows it really keeps us from living a full life," he continued, "So I think it's always a good thing to touch on. 'SOS' is really about being lost at sea."
