Gina (Chelsea Peretti) meets a potential love interest in the penultimate episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 4.

"Cruel Intentions" star Ryan Phillippe is joining the FOX comedy as the new man in Gina's life. He will play Milton, a guy who becomes romantically involved with Gina. As expected, Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) will not be pleased when he learns that Gina is getting closer to another man. Phillippe is set to appear on the show's two-part finale airing in late May.

The show's midseason finale in January ended with Gina being hit by a bus and her fate unclear. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" returned from its three-month break last week, finally revealing that Nine-Nine's civilian administrator survived the bus crash. However, she needs to sit down at all times because of her serious injuries. As TV Guide points out, the development in Gina's story was made to hide Peretti's pregnancy. The actress is expecting her first child with husband Jordan Peele.

Best known for his roles in "Cruel Intentions" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer," Phillippe currently stars in the U.S. drama "Shooter." His other TV acting credits include "Secrets and Lies," "Drunk History" and "Damages." The 44-year-old actor will next be seen in the 2017 horror feature film "Wish Upon" with Joey King and Sherilyn Fenn.

Joining the list of guest stars for this season are "Castle" vet Nathan Fillion and "Once Upon a Time" actor Greg Germann. Both actors are set to appear in Tuesday's episode, which centers on a "Law & Order" inspired story. Episode 14, "Serve & Protect," features a burglary that happened on the set of a famous detective TV series. Jake (Andy Samberg) and Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) are tasked to work on the case, but they are immediately distracted when they meet the show's lead star (Fillion) and producer (Germann).

The fourth season of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" airs every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
