Actor Bruce Willis has exited the currently untitled Woody Allen film and, according to a recent report from Deadline, has now been replaced by Academy Award-nominee Steve Carell. Carell will be joining the cast which includes Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Blake Lively, and Corey Stoll, among others. 

The report explains that Willis left the project on mutual terms with director Woody Allen due to scheduling conflicts. Willis reportedly had interests in pursuing a Broadway adaptation of the Stephen King novel "Misery." 

However, The Wrap reporter Jeff Sneider posted via Twitter that Willis had been fired from the project. 

According to Cinema Blend, the actor allegedly had difficulty delivering his lines even when there were cue cards displayed and also getting into trouble with the rest of the cast and crew. The actor was reportedly already filming his scenes when he left the project, further implying that he may have been fired.

A report from Metro mentions that previously, director Kevin Smith complained about working with Willis in their film "Cop Out."  The publication also points out the actor's departure from "The Expendables 3." He was set to return but was later dropped after disputes regarding his salary for five days of filming, to which Sylvester Stallone tweeted as a "sure formula for career failure." 

At this point, neither Willis' nor Allen's camp has confirmed these allegations, although the latter explained that Willis exited due to scheduling conflicts and nothing more. 

The inclusion of Carell, who previously worked with Allen in 2004's "Melinda and Melinda," will ensure that the still untitled film will stay on schedule. The movie is set to continue primary shooting next month in Los Angeles and New York City. No official release date has been announced thus far.
