"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" will be launching alongside a remaster of the original "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare." However, gamers are now required to have the "Infinite Warfare" disc inserted into their consoles in order to play the game.

Activision has redirected consumers to an updated FAQ where it explains that the game requires the "Infinite Warfare" disc in order to access "Modern Warfare Remastered" and that it is not possible to purchase the latter separately.

It is also stated that "Modern Warfare" will only be available to those who purchase the Legacy Edition, Legacy Pro Edition, and the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game. This means consumers with the special editions cannot simply buy the game, download "Modern Warfare," and then sell their "Infinite Warfare" disc as they'll need the latter to play the former.

The FAQ also explains that, for PlayStation 4 players, they will need to insert the "Infinite Warfare" disc into their console and then download "Modern Warfare" as a full digital game. For Xbox One gamers, the game is already included in the disc and there would be no need to download a file. An internet connection is required to play in both cases.

Players who have purchased the game on Steam via the Legacy Edition will receive a key. This code is then required to play both "Infinite Warfare" and "Modern Warfare."

Polygon also reports that the 30-day preview for "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered" will only be available for the Playstation 4 players who have pre-purchased a digital deluxe edition of the game. This preview was given to players during E3 when it was assumed that the physical copies of the Legacy and Legacy Pro Edition would be included.

"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," along with "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered," will launch this Nov. 4 for the PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
