Fans of the "Call of Duty" franchise were left with a cliffhanger to the Zombie storyline from "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2," but in a recent interview with Game Spot, it has been revealed that the story will get a conclusion in the upcoming "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" DLC 4, which has yet to be given a definitive release date.

"I've still technically to this day not answered that question of what that was and why that was there. That will be answered by the end of DLC 4. I believe that the ending of DLC 4 will spark emotion in the players, which is my goal," explained Treyarch's senior executive producer, Jason Blundell.

The Zombie storyline has been a major element of Treyarch's "Call of Duty" games, with the campaign starting as far back as "Call of Duty: World at War." The story halted with a sudden cliffhanger with the final DLC for "Black Ops 2" when the scene cut to black just as Samantha and Edward headed to the basement after hearing Max call out to them.

Where this story will go and how it will is now going to be revealed in the final DLC for "Black Ops 3."

The exact date of release has yet to be announce but according to a report from Gotta Be Mobile it will launch for the PlayStation 4 before the November release of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" and after the September "Call of Duty" event. It is speculated that the DLC will be playable during the event and a release date will be announced as well.

With this in mind it is widely speculated that the DLC will launch in late September but this will solely be for the PlayStation 4 version. As with previous DLC packs, the Xbox One and PC will get a copy of the fourth DLC 30 days after the PS4 release.
