'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' news: March update v.52.5.26.7.0 tones down the MR6

Treyarch, Activision

The latest hotfix update, v.52.5.26.7.0,  for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" is now available online for PC, PS4 and Xbox One users. The official hotfix was launched on March 10, and while it is not a major update to the game, it still alters the gameplay enough for them to be noticeable.

David Vonderhaar, the official community manager for developer Treyarch, posted the important features via Twitter. According to his posts, the MR6 handgun has been toned down, reducing its maximum fire rate. However, players from numerous forums have confirmed that the new fire rate is barely any different from the original.

The MR6 has proven to be one of the most widely appreciated weapons in the game due to its high fire rate and stopping power, making many gamers liken it to the original hand pistol from the first "Halo" game, which was also quite powerful.

Vonderhaar also revealed that bug fixes have been applied for the Ante-Up, for weapon pick-ups, for the Safeguard robot and for prone players. It is likely that these fixes have been addressed in order to improve the game's balance in multiplayer matches more so than in the single-player campaign.

Zombie Mode has also seen a few issues fixed with update v.52.5.26.7.0. Aggro level for the Margwas has been adjusted and the issue of duplicated upgraded bows has been fixed. Bugs plaguing the DG-4 have also been addressed with the update.

The hotfix update has been implemented as preparation for update 1.07, which is a large update that will address several features and bugs in the game. It will also serve as a requirement for the upcoming DLC for the game. According to Gotta Be Mobile, the size varies from platform to platform: on the PS4 it is 9.6 GB while on the Xbox One it is 1.1 GB in size.
