The multiplayer beta for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" on the PlayStation 4 (PS4) has now ended.

The game's beta actually ended a day later than originally expected. The game's developer, Treyarch, originally planned to end the PS4 beta by Sunday before deciding to move the end date just a day later to Monday.

Players were able to try out three different maps in the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" beta. The maps found in the beta included Combine, Evac, and Hunted. Each one of the maps provided players with a different kind of environment that also necessitated a different kind of approach from gamers.

Aside from the three different maps, players could also try out seven different game modes in the beta, according to Expert Reviews UK. Players could choose from multiplayer modes such as Capture the Flag, Demolition, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Search, and Destroy as well as Team Deathmatch.

In addition to those modes that were part of the PS4 beta to begin with, Treyarch also added a new mode along the way. The new addition, known as Stronghold, involves team play that featured a robot in the game's mechanics. According to Gamespot, even though Stronghold was not originally part of the beta from the beginning, future rollouts of the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" beta will now include it as well.

Treyarch also made other changes to the PS4 beta of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" along the way, also bumping up the level cap from 34 to 40 and even introducing a new Specialist known as Spectre to the beta.

The "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" was made available first on PS4, but now it is set to migrate to other platforms.

The beta will be available for PC and Xbox One players beginning Aug. 26 and it is expected to wrap up by Aug. 30.
