The "Call of Duty" franchise is one of the most successful first-person game series. It would not be surprising for fans to be eagerly waiting for the announcement of the next game in the series. According to rumors around the internet, it looks like the next game would be a "Call of Duty: Black Ops 4."

Interestingly, fans would not even have to wait for long since the rumor also includes that the game will actually be out this year. This apparent release for the latest "Call of Duty" game was first mentioned by Marcus Sellars via his Twitter.

"COD 2018 is Black Ops 4 and is coming to PS4/Xbox/PC/Switch. It is set in the modern times and is boots on the ground," reads the tweet. "The Switch Version will support DLC, HD Rumble, and motion controls." With the huge success of the Nintendo Switch, it then does not seem surprising that the game will be ported to the Switch as well.

Sellars' tweet also mentions that the company porting the game to the Switch is one that has been "familiar with COD" games. In contrast to the previous title aptly named "Call of Duty: World War II," it is interesting for gamers to see that this alleged next game has a modern gameplay.

While the tweet message may just seem like something anyone can say, Stellars has a pretty impressive record of leaking out details of announcements and events. One of his biggest reveal was the Nintendo Labo that was also recently released. The Labo does not seem like something that anyone could have guessed since it is, after all, entirely different from what gamers get on their consoles.

As with any rumor, it is best to take this information with a grain of salt, especially since Publisher Activision or developer Treyarch has not released any official announcement for this possible 2018 game.
