Ramping up the hype for the upcoming third installment in the "Black Ops" series for the "Call of Duty" franchise, developer Treyarch and publisher Activision have released another gameplay footage, showcasing one of the most noted new features for the upcoming shooter.

Dubbed Cybercore abilities, these are set of skills in unlockable tiers that will give "Black Ops 3" players an advantage over futuristic enemies. The abilities vary in nature, and observers like PCGamer  gave their first impressions of these skills as reminiscent of another classic franchise, "Bioshock."

The set of skills under Cybercore vary, but all of them have something in common – rendering enemies useless without using guns. Some of the names give some hints about what they do, like Firely Swarm unleashing a horde of killer insects, and Advanced Sonic AP, which will make enemies fall to their knees and vomit. Meanwhile, there are also mysterious skills like the Wide-area Misdirect and Adaptive Immolation tiers.

In addition to those that were showcased in the new trailer footage, it seems that there still are other skill sets under the Cybercore abilities tier. According to industry observer TechnoBuffalo, the Cybercore skill features in the video footage are just a part of the Chaos section of the skill tree, and this hinted that the new skill set three for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will branch out in different areas of combat, depending on player preferences.

Meanwhile, other than the new gameplay footage, Activision has also announced a new video series for "Black Ops 3," noted GameSpot. To start on Friday, there will be new videos uploaded on the "Call of Duty" official YouTube channel.

"Black Ops Fridays," according to Activision, will highlight interviews with developers, answer fan queries, and show off new gameplay footages, and will be held every Friday starting Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. EDT.
