"Call of Duty Online" has recently touched down in China to let the massive pack of gamers in the republic experience the whole panorama of shooting and bombardment activities of the free-to-play PC offshoot of the epic shooter series. Activision has teamed up with Chinese Internet titan Tencent, which also distributes first person shooter title "Crossfire" to the enormous Chinese market, to bring the open beta of the game to the country.

"Millions of gamers in the West have come to appreciate that white-knuckled, epic thrill-ride that only Call of Duty delivers," Activision CEO Eric Hirschberg stated in a news release as quoted by Polygon. "And now an entire new audience of gamers will experience this for the first time."

"Call of Duty Online," as Game Spot revealed, was specially crafted for the huge market. Hirschberg emphasized that the installment will be "a game-changer for Chinese gamers." 

"Throughout testing, the community feedback has been tremendous. We couldn't be more excited and we look forward to winning the hearts and minds of a new community in China," Hirschberg said via Hollywood Reporter.

"Call of Duty Online" allows gamers to buy or rent in-game items with real-world money. The installment includes single-player missions called "Hero Ops" and co-op missions known as "Survival mode." Polygon added that there will be a traditional multiplayer and a modified mode called "Cyborgs," a brand-new offering from Activision where gamers have to tackle a horde of mechanoids rather than zombies all to adjust to the Chinese censorship rules. The same policies may have also led Activision to discount the idea of bringing "Call of Duty" to gaming consoles in the nation, although Game Spot broached that China has already taken away its console ban, which lasted for a decade. 

In a special action sequence developed by the Activision/Tencent collaboration, "Captain America" star Chris Evans was in complete firing gear as he led a pack of "Call of Duty" players into the battlefield.
