'Call of Duty' news: Microsoft to release new 'Call of Duty' title in May 2015?

"Hmm..."[Photo credit: Raj Patel | Twitter]

Xbox Community Manager Raj Patel got Xbox players wound up after he shared a mysterious photo bearing a message in Morse code that, when translated, reveals what looks like a release date. Some think its for a big "Call of Duty" release set in May. According to Polygon, the code reads: "Presented by Xbox, 10 am PDT/1 pm EST May 4th 2015." However, Patel quickly clarified that the image is unofficial.

"Earlier I posted an unofficial (not from Xbox) image to see what others think of it, not as an endorsement or tease. Sorry for any confusion," the community manager illuminated.

Even with this cleared up, fans are now expecting a big release from Microsoft. If it would happen in May, then it could only mean one thing for fans and that is "Call of Duty."

Activision usually reveals its plans for the much-loved video game franchise during that month. On May 1 back in 2013, the game studio announced the existence of "Call of Duty: Ghosts." On May 2 last year, "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" was introduced. It also seems that Activision likes to drop details about "Call of Duty" when the NBA Playoffs is at full swing. This year, the NBA Conference Semifinals is set on May 4 as well, Polygon pointed out.

Fans believe that "Call of Duty: World at War 2" is the one to be unveiled. The supposed title was hinted by video game developer Treyarch, which shared posts remembering World War 2 on Facebook. However, top leakster Shinobi602 reminded fans that the game studio is more likely to focus on refreshing the "Black Ops" series, which they developed for the franchise. Only SP hopes that Treyarch is on the move to re-establish cool features in "Black Ops 2," like how a small decision can change the course of the journey.

However, everything remains unfounded and if ever Activision and Microsoft are planning to release a new "Call of Duty" installment this year, details will come out soon.
