The first downloadable content (DLC) pack for "Call of Duty: WWII" was released on Jan. 30 for the PlayStation 4. The triple-A first-person shooter title by game developer Activision features new maps and missions, with a zombie mode headlining the DLC.

The DLC pack, titled "Resistance," takes its name from the Resistance Fighters that the added content will revolve around. The fighters, as introduced in several of Activision's trailers, are "close-combat assassins" that specialize in knives and pistols, but they are also good using heavier guns. The fighters are inspired by the resistance movements that happened in several European countries during World War 2.

The first DLC pack gives players three new maps in total, with one being a remodeling from a previous "Call of Duty" game. The maps are named as "Occupation," "Valkyrie," and "Anthropoid."

The Occupation map is a remodeled, WWII version of the Paris, France map in Activision's "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3," which was the third and final installment of the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" series for third generation consoles PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.

Meanwhile, Valkyrie takes place in East Prussia which is now modern-day Germany. The map will give players a massive war-like feel, as the design and gameplay were taken from Operation Barbosa, which is the Nazi-Soviet invasion. The map will also focus on the Masurian Woods full of overwatch positions and machine gun bunkers.

Lastly, Anthropoid will take place in Prague, Czech Republic. Its name is taken from Operation Anthropoid, a planned assassination of a senior Nazi officer. Since it is an assassination map, players can expect a wide map perfect for long range attacks.

A new mission dubbed, "Operation Intercept," will allow players to conduct a search-and-rescue operation for captured Resistance fighters. It is called "intercept" since the mission would require players to intercept a freight train transporting the prisoners.

For those interested in zombie modes, a second chapter of the game's Nazi zombie mode will also be included.

Although already launched for PS4, XBox One and PC users will have to wait for March 1 for the release.
