Season 4 of British period drama "Call the Midwife" is coming to U.S. this month and many fans await its arrival. At the start of the new season, fans will follow a newbie named Nurse Barbara Gilbert as she makes a name for herself in Nonnatus House despite a rough start.

[Spoiler Alert!] As she successfully helped a new mother of four prevail over her tribulations, her colleagues slowly forgets about their impression on her being a drunkard (she partied hard during the initial nights of her stay) and eventually gains respect from them.

Meanwhile, Trixie is bound to go head to head with an emotionally challenging case. Whatever it is, there is no telling but the case has all the potentials in exhausting her and it is considered one of the most emotionally demanding task for nothing.

Meanwhile, the Turners have scored a domestic deal that transcends from the 1950s to the 60s. And at last, Sister Evangelina has concurred in having her tummy checked due to abdominal pains.

Indeed, "Call the Midwife" is loved by many and actor Stephen McGann, who plays Patrick Turner in the series, is a witness to that. In an interview with Science Festival, the actor said his praises about the drama.

"We knew it was good when we did our first birth scene. Everybody in the room cried—burly camera operators as well as the actors! It was so moving and compelling," McGann shared.

"But nobody had any idea just how much the series would catch the public's imagination. We continue to be overwhelmed by the worldwide response," the actor then revealed.

The actor also reiterated the important of science in the series, saying on the whole that "there should be no part of public life from which science is considered absent or irrelevant."

"Call the Midwife" season 4 premieres in the U.S. on Mar. 29.
