It has been announced that five shows will not be coming back after NBC decided not to bring them back for a second season.

The five shows which have not been picked up for a second season include Constantine, State of Affairs, Marry Me, One Big Happy and About a Boy.

The mentioned series were among the freshman list of the NBC Network but if any of these series are to get a second season, it would have to be on another network.

Constantine, a DC Comics superhero, tells the story of an immortal demon hunter played by Matt Ryan. Though his roots seemed to be solid, there was apparently something lacking in terms of appeal that would get followers to see the adventures of Constantine. As it stands right now, Warner Bros. is shopping the show which would hopefully picked up by another network.

State of Affairs on the other hand tells the story of a CIA Analyst (Katherine Heigl) helping the president handle national security issues and solving a terror attack which claimed the life of his fiancé. Though the show does serve promise, it is in same vote of Constantine.

It may not be much of a laughing matter for the comedy series that got the boot. About a Boy, Marry Me and One Big Happy somehow failed to get the necessary support from the viewing audience and many believe have a long shot at getting picked up.

The comedy genre shows apparently failed to score in the ratings game and it was practically expected that they would not be returning for another season. That is unless some other network would gamble and see how the shows could be tweaked though that may be a pretty long shot.

Hence, hope floats for Constantine and State of Affairs. Of the axed shows, it should be interesting if other networks would be interested in picking them up for at least one more season.
