Candace Cameron Bure Helps Whoopi Goldberg Pray While on 'The View'
"Fuller House" star Candace Cameron Bure is never shy about displaying her Christian faith while co-hosting for "The View," and this time, she did so by helping her co-host Whoopi Goldberg pray on the show.
During an episode of "The View" last Wednesday, co-hosts Bure, Goldberg, Joy Behar and Jedediah Bila discussed the debate between Fox News host Megyn Kelly and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, according to The Christian Post.
Kelly and Gingrich debated over the sexual assault allegations against former president Bill Clinton. More specifically, they sparred over the incident involving Clinton who allegedly paid former Arkansas state employee Paula Jones $850,000 to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit case. They compared Clinton's situation to the sexual harassment allegations that are now being made against Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, and whether or not it is right for the media to cover this.
For their part, the ladies of "The View" talked about the negative coverage Trump has received from the media. They would've continued had Bure not changed the topic to singer Sheryl Crow, a well-known Hillary Clinton supporter. Crow appeared as a guest on the show on Oct. 3, announcing that she had started a petition on Change.org to shorten the presidential campaign season to six months.
Crow said in the petition, which currently has over 55,000 signatures, that "this election cycle has been extremely damaging and has incited fear and hatred in a country founded on the beauty of our differences and the desire to lift each person, no matter race, religion, political party, or economic status, to reach his or her fullest potential."
She urged both the Republican and Democratic parties to "reform the process and shorten our election season" in order to spare America another "lengthy slugfest."
Goldberg seemed to think this was a great idea because she grabbed Bure's hand and began to recite a prayer. "Yes I'm getting Whoopi to pray," Bure excitedly said. "Lord, make this cycle shorter," Goldberg prayed.
