Though the Mayweather-Pacquiao drama is still in the air, all that may be clearing soon after that devastating knockout victory scored by 'Saul' Canelo Alvarez over James Kirkland last Saturday.

It took only three rounds for Alvarez to finish the fight, connecting with a right at the 2:19 mark of the third which sent Kirkland to the canvass and out for the count.

That triumph catapulted the attention on the ongoing drama between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, a bout that led many boxing fans disappointed. Thank God Canelo was there to somehow restore order in the boxing world.

With the win, it remains to be seen who Alvarez would face next. Among the names mentioned are Miguel Cotto and Gennady Golovkin though Alvarez said that he is ready to take on anybody.

Apparently Alvarez is willing to take on anyone who would be willing to get into the ring with him, hence, it all remains to be seen on who between the two would bite.

With regards to Cotto, this would not be the first time that his name would be one of the boxers who may possibly face Alvarez. There were talks last year but everything fizzled in January of this year when Cotto's camp did not accept and Alvarez chose to move on.

On Golovkin, Alvarez says that he is the type of fighter he wants to face.

How about a rematch with Mayweather? Alvarez fought Mayweather on September 14, 2013 but lost a majority 12-round decision. Many believed that Alvarez would have been Mayweather's toughest test but sadly things didn't turn out the way many had predicted.

Would he consider it in September? Mayweather plans to fight one more time before hanging up his gloves and with Alvarez impressive win, that could be an option.

How about Pacquiao?

Well he could face the Filipino boxer but all that could happen next year. Pacquiao is currently recuperating from a right shoulder injury which the PacMan suffered during training. The earliest date Pacquiao could return to the ring would be a year from now, assuming he does not opt to retire.

Four possible names to choose from and Alvarez is certainly not backing down on any of them. Any wild guesses on who it could be?
