The much awaited mega bout between Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto and challenger Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will finally take place with both boxers having their share of being picked as the favorite one to win in their Nov. 21 blockbuster clash.

Boxers like Gennady Golovkin have already made their call, picking Alvarez' speed over the power and experience of Miguel Cotto. And now, two more popular boxers join the fray making contrasting picks.

On one end is Amir Khan who believes that Alvarez' speed will be too much for Cotto to handle. In fact, the British boxer sees Alvarez scoring a big knockout, adding that the Mexican's youth and strength will make it hard for Cotto to weather.

However, his former sparmate and supposed opponent (which unfortunately will no longer happen) Manny Pacquiao thinks otherwise.

For the Filipino boxing champion, Cotto will win this one via decision. He believes that Cotto's experience and the fact that he is trained by the same one who handles him (Freddie Roach), make the Puerto Rican as the more likely victor in this one.

On whether their predictions come true or not will be known by Nov. 21 when the two face off at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

But the real fighter who may be keeping tabs on the fight is Triple G.

Golovkin himself is scheduled to face David Lemieux at the Madison Square Garden this coming Oct. 17 wherein he is a 2–1 favorite to prevail. A win by Golovkin will unify the World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) titles, and chances are he will aim to face next the winner of the Alvarez–Cotto tiff.

The World Boxing Council (WBC) is also closely following the fight between Alvarez and Cotto, where the winner is believed to be Triple G's next opponent.

Word about Cotto facing Golovkin came out early this year, but apparently a fight with Alvarez prevailed. But now, it seems that should he win, there is no avoiding the Kazakh express, especially if Triple G wins over Lemieux as many forecast.
