Canon's newest camcorder, XF400, has reviews saying that it is the best camcorder for professionals wanting to get 4K videos.

To clear out the confusion that the XF camcorder line would only belong the 200 and 300 series, the number "4" signifies that the video camera recorder is capable of capturing shots at 4K resolution. This camera will best fit broadcasters and mobile news crews.

For the new model, Canon has put in place a single ring system instead of the three lens ring for convenient focus, brightness adjustment, and zoom. Canon users will notice immediately the reduced size of the XF400 from the XF300. The previous model measured at 6.0x9.3x15.0 inches, while the new unit is marked at 3.8x5.3x8.4 inches. With the new dimensions, the XF400 tips the scale at 3.7 pounds.

These new measurements might mean nothing if the unit will be sitting on a tripod, but for most mobile reporters who hold their cameras in their hand, the change of weight will be very welcoming.
