'Captain America: Civil War' end-credit scenes show bond between Iron Man and Spider-Man
The new Spider-Man is given a significant amount of screen time in Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War," especially in its end-credit scenes.
In one of the scenes featured in the powerhouse movie, the new Peter Parker, portrayed by Tom Holland, is seen playing with a brand-new Spider-Man suit that was made and designed by Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark. It was actually the same suit as the one seen in the trailer of the movie, but the end credits provide close details of the suit for the first time. This possibly hints that the next stand-alone Spider-Man film will be more technologically advanced compared to the previous movies.
In a U.K. press conference to promote the film, co-director Joe Russo explained that Iron Man called Spider-Man to help him with his battle against his fellow, Avenger Captain America, played by Chris Evans.
"If you're going out to capture a bunch of people who you don't necessarily want to hurt, you couldn't ask for a better character than Spider-Man to take with you," the director explained in the press conference, as reported by Screen Rant. "I think he feels like the kid will be well-protected under his tutelage. You also find out in that sequence, when things go wrong the kid says, 'What do I do?' and Tony says, 'Keep your distance, web 'em up.' So he's obviously mentored the kid for what's about to go down."
The relationship between Iron Man and Spider-Man will go beyond "Captain America: Civil War," since it was confirmed that Downey will also appear in the upcoming "Spider-Man: Homecoming" movie, which will come out on July 7, 2017.
Meanwhile, Spider-Man's combat with the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) can be seen in the latest TV ad that promotes the upcoming release of "Captain America: Civil War" in the U.S. The young superhero can be heard saying, "You have a metal arm? That is awesome dude!" in the clip. It also features some of the biggest fights between the members of the Avengers who took sides between Captain America and Iron Man.
"Captain America: Civil War" will come out on May 6.
