Marvel Studios revealed that the first appearance of the new Spider-Man will happen in "Captain America: Civil War." 

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that actor Tom Holland will don the Spider-Man costume for the first time in the third "Captain America" film. Feige added that Holland is expected to report to work at the film's Atlanta set as soon as possible. 

The announcement came after the recent screen test that Holland reportedly had to go through in order to land the highly coveted role. The 19-year-old British actor was one of the handpicked actors who were tested alongside "Captain America: Civil War" stars Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. Of the other young actors aged 14 to 19 who were tested in front of the film's casting director Sarah Finn, Holland came out as the best choice. 

Business Insider reported that Spider-Man will play an important role in the "Civil War" story since he will be stuck in the middle of two opposing ideologies, mainly those of Captain America (Evans) and Iron Man (Downey). The Avengers members argue about the latest government policy that require superheroes to register their identities. Iron Man sides with the government while Captain America refuses to comply, saying that it will be a direct violation of their civil rights. However, Spider-Man's role in the upcoming film is still unannounced at the moment. 

Holland is also signed to make other Spider-Man films, including a stand-alone movie in the future. 

"Captain America: Civil War" will also star Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as the War Machine, Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch, and Paul Rudd who will be introduced as the Ant-Man on July 17. 

Marvel is expected to release "Captain America: Civil War" on May 6, 2016.
