Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) hasn't seen any action yet on-screen, but fans already knew that she's going to be a powerhouse because Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has been saying she's going to be the strongest character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

In a recent interview with Variety, Feige reiterated that Captain Marvel's powers were "off the charts," and he explained why Larson was the right person for the role.

"With Captain Marvel, who has powers that approach a level that we haven't seen before in our films, you need to counter- balance that by finding somebody who is also very human and very relatable and can get into a groove with the audience, where they're willing to see her fly through the sun and punch a moon away from a spacecraft. At the same time, we need her to land and have relatable flaws," he said.

Well, there's no denying that Larson can really capture the audience's attention with her performance. The actress already won multiple Best Actress awards for playing Joy "Ma" Newsome in "Room," so she has the star power to carry a film.

Feige also said that finding a female director for the film was definitely a priority. The search is still ongoing, but reports are saying that Niki Caro, Rebecca Thomas, Lorene Scafaria, and Lesli Linka Glatter are on the shortlist. They are taking their time with this decision, but Feige told Vulture last month that the film should have a director by the end of the year.

The biggest question fans are asking right now is how will they retell Carol Danvers' origin story? "Captain Marvel" co-writer Nicole Perlman was a guest on the Any Time with Vin Forte podcast last August and she said they had to change her origin story because it was too similar to Green Lantern. That's true enough. However, she did not reveal any details on how they would change it.

"Captain Marvel" is scheduled to premiere on March 8, 2019.
