'Captain America 3': Marvel confirms Daniel Bruhl to play a villain

Since "Captain America: Civil War" was announced, there's been little update about it. While Marvel surely isn't in a rush to divulge movie details, there are still tidbits of information that trickle through various media sites. But then of course, there are also those announcements made by Marvel itself.

Recently, Marvel has confirmed a new cast member for "Captain America 3." He is none other than Daniel Bruhl and he will play a villain in the movie.

Marvel head Kevin Feige said, "With Daniel's ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes."

Bruhl was seen in "Rush" and "Inglorious Basterds."

However, Bruhl will not be cast as the main villain in the third Captain America movie. It is confirmed that Captain American and Iron Man will be butting heads in "Civil War," thus making Iron Man more likely to be the main antagonist to the Captain. So, it will be interesting to see what role Bruhl will play here.

As for what type of Civil War will be seen on "Captain America 3," Feige explained, "It's a big storyline... this is the Civil War of the cinematic universe, inspired by comicbook universe, but the Civil War that's based on all of the other films, particularly ('Captain America: The Winter Soldier') and ('The Avengers: Age of Ultron')."

The "Captain America" movie franchise appears to be the "epicenter" of future directions regarding the Marvel Cinematic Universe, says JGB News. The report also said that this is the movie franchise that is the "most promising." Hence, any event that will happen in this movie will branch out and affect the other Marvel superhero storylines, too.

Chris Evans will reprise his role as Steve Rogers/ Captain America. Robert Downey Jr. will play Tony Stark/ Iron Man, who will have a major role in the movie. "Captain America 3" will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and will be released on May 6, 2016.
