"Captain America: Civil War" will focus on conflict between Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America (Chris Evans) as they take different sides regarding government control over superheroes. However, actor Anthony Mackie, who plays Falcon, revealed during the D23 event that the conflict is more of a "family dispute" than a bloody war. 

"Nah, it's not MMA. We definitely have gloves on. It's more of a family dispute, and that's what so great about this movie and the characters and how they work together. It's more so when you have a sibling rivalry," explained the actor as quoted by Collider .

This was later supported by Evans who stated, "Well said. I feel like families – you have more struggles with the people you love because you care about them. You can't leave them, you have to make this work. If it's someone you can cut out of your life, no problem. You may not get along, but you can't just cut them out of your life." 

According to the report from Collider, this aspect adds import to the action. Parts of this was shown in the D23 trailer — which has not yet been released online at the time of writing — during the fight between Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) when they argue whether they are still friends or not while trading blows. 

Another important point pressed during the panel was that this is a "Captain America" movie and not "The Avengers." This means that Captain America's relationship with some of the core heroes will be explored more than others, particularly his relationship with Falcon and his fading relationship with the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan). 

The film will also have to introduce fans to new members of the MCU family, particularly Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland), both of which are expected to branch out with their own solo films. 

"Captain America: Civil War" opens in theaters on May 6, 2016.
