If you played Super Mario 3D World, then Captain Toad is no stranger to you. Well now, Captain Toad is now on his own without Super Mario or Luigi around as Captain Toad Treasure Tracker silently debuted at the start of the year.

The game is somehow similar to the mini puzzle game that could be played from Super Mario 3D World which to many was something worth playing to display their wits. But what makes the game somehow interesting is it's sudden release. There was no word about the game last year or even prior and the fact that no push was even made for it.

It's either the game was not really meant to be hyped or that there could have been budget constraints. But for people who love puzzles, this should be an interesting game to take on, especially since it comes at a very affordable price.

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is a flexible game where you can rotate and look at every angle. Players can even move some sections of the landscape with a single touch on the screen. Players who eventually play the game will see no jumping like Mario or Luigi does, since Toad is someone who really can't in-game. However, he does hurt the various items and adversaries he comes across in the game.

Each puzzle calls for players to come up with three gems. Each level will have its own hidden objective which if successful, leads to new discoveries and surprises.

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker for Wii U is already available in North America and Europe which reportedly runs around $59.95 in retail stores. However, there are some outlets who may be offering it for less than $50 although you may have to look for them with a little bit more effort if you want to get a bargain.
