"Jesus Take the Wheel" singer Carrie Underwood might never look the same again after she sustained injuries on her face and wrist last November.

The Christian country singer fell on the steps of her house on November 10, according to Entertainment Weekly. She first revealed that she had broken her wrist because of the fall, but it was only on Sunday that she shared that the accident caused severe cuts to her face as well.

She wrote a post to her fan club members and said that she had to get "40 to 50 stitches" to her face, reported Taste of Country. "There is also another part of the story that I haven't been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up," she wrote. "It's crazy how a freak random accident can change your life."

"In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I'll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told [Underwood's husband] Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in," she continued.

Seven to eight weeks after the accident, Underwood said she is slowly healing but admitted she's "not quite looking the same."

"I honestly don't know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful," she added. "I am grateful that it wasn't much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way."

Despite the changes on her facial features, Underwood said she is determined to make 2018 "amazing," but she pleaded with fans to offer understanding when she's ready to get in front of the camera again.
