Phobia Game Studio and Sebastian Krośkiewicz, the creator of two-dimension (2D) shooter "Butcher," published a YouTube video featuring the pre-alpha gameplay footage of its latest game, "Carrion," for the upcoming The Media Indie Exchange (MIX) 2018.

The pre-alpha gameplay footage of the gory reverse horror game features a red, amorphous alien being, killing humans while swinging with its rope-like limbs. For those who are not aware, reverse horror means players take on the role of the scary creatures rather than being the innocent civilians — meaning, players are the one terrorizing victims this time.

Judging from the footage as well as the fact that the game is supposed to be a reverse horror, one can surmise that players will be taking the role of the red alien blob. The said creature, as mentioned earlier, moves by swinging with its rope-like limbs. Moreover, the red alien blob spreads blood as it moves and gets larger as it consumes more humans. Krośkiewicz posted a GIF of the alien blob fearlessly facing guards with one holding a flamethrower — he captioned the tweet, "The player isn't gonna be the scared one."

PC Gamer said the game is horrific yet interesting to play — it features a monster with tentacles, hair-raising sounds as the tentacles move, horrifying screams of the victims and carcasses that flies and splatters as the red alien blob strikes humans against the surfaces. The Reddit thread about the pre-alpha gameplay footage echoed PC Gamer as it also showcased positive feedbacks from Reddit users.

"Carrion" has no release date as of the moment. Interested players can participate in the game's alpha in the upcoming The MIX 2018 at San Francisco on March 19.
