Will Rick and Kate welcome a "Castle" baby when the show returns for season 8? 

According to previous spoilers, Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) will be facing a lot of changes in the eighth season of ABC's long-running police procedural crime drama. One of the most prevalent rumors is that NYPD's first-class homicide investigator will have a career change. It was reported that Beckett will run for a political office, but more recent speculations believe that she will replace Captain Victoria Gates as the head of the New York Police Department after actress Penny Johnson Jerald confirmed that she will not return to the show next season. 

Recently, CarterMatt brushed on the possibility that Beckett will become pregnant with her and Castle's first child. According to the TV news and spoilers website, the possibility of bringing a baby into the couple's life had been talked about in the past, particularly in episodes like "The Good, the Bad, and the Baby." 

The site also implied that it would be fun to see the lead actors tackle a surprise pregnancy next season, since Fillion and Katic are both known to possess great talent in comedic scenes. It also mentioned that viewers will have a great time watching the two deal with the unexpected scenario of raising a baby in the middle of their chaotic life changes. 

Meanwhile, IB Times India reported that series showrunners Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley are plotting a lot of surprises next season, including the possible return of crooked Senator William Bracken (Jack Coleman) in the series to make Beckett's and Castle's lives more complicated even if he is currently not in power to do so. 

ABC has yet to confirm the official plot of "Castle" season 8, as well as its release date.
