'Castle' Season 7 Spoilers: Talks of possible spin-off - Will Richard Castle depart from the show?

ABC Network has confirmed the renewal of "Castle" season 7 and fans can't help but wonder what's in store for them this next season.

During last season's finale episode, Richard Castle was featured in an untimely car crash accident that led audiences to speculate that he might no longer return to the show.

Such speculations were heightened following lead actor Nathan Fillion's controversial statement during at a Dallas convention saying, "I don't know how it's going to work out after the untimely death of Castle in season 6."

Although it seems very unlikely for the lead character of "Castle" to be booted off his own show, still, uncertainties continue to surround loyal fans.

Andrew Marlowe, the show's executive producer clarified to TV Line, "There's always stuff floating in the back of our minds, but it all depends on James Brolin's availability and finding a story that makes sense and honors the characters."

He told TV Guide, "We know that there's a cost to ending a season this way. We know that people are looking for that wedding moment, and that's a moment that we're going to get to. But there's still some storytelling that we have to get through before we get there."

Meanwhile, Fillion hinted on a possible "Castle" spin-off and although nothing has been finalized yet, the actor joked during a convention in Dallas, "I know that Molly Quinn is constantly pushing for a Castle spin-off. We're calling it Castle: Legacy."

So with all of these exciting twists and turns on the show, does this mean that "Castle" will end after seven seasons?

Marlowe explained in an interview with TV Line: "I never declared season 7 as the final season. What I said is that there's an organic ending to the show and the characters will tell me when that is. I listen to the characters, and there's going to be a point where we've had the best storytelling that these characters can give us."
