Beckett (Stana Katic) will have to figure out who wants her dead before it is too late in the upcoming episode of the ABC series "Castle."

In "XX," Cartermatt reports that the action will pick up right where the premiere episode left off, with Castle (Nathan Fillion) searching everywhere for his wife. This time though, the viewers will understand more why Beckett suddenly disappeared, as the story will be told from her perspective rather than her husband's.

Beckett reportedly received a mysterious tip from her past that a group of mercenaries was after her head. She has no choice but to run to lead the danger away from her family. She was not even able to say goodbye to Castle nor explain why she was leaving. As a result, Castle is slowly going mad with worry, wondering where she is or if she is safe.

In the promo released by ABC, Castle is seen abducted by an unknown group, which is now revealed to be the same mercenary team who is after Beckett. The kidnappers threaten Castle that they will kill him if he does not divulge where his wife is hiding. As for Beckett, she must identify the brain behind the plot to kill her before they succeed in doing so.

Meanwhile, Yahoo reports that Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever), and Javier Esposito (Jon Huertas) will be a lot busier this season now that Beckett has been promoted as captain of the precinct. In an interview, the co-stars expounded on how things would change for these friends.

"Ryan and Esposito have a lot more caseload, and they're also thinking about what this means for their life. So they're thinking about taking the sergeants' exam; they are thinking about moving up the ladder of the police chain," Dever said.

Huertas also revealed that viewers would pretty much only see them both on crime scenes and taking point on investigations, as Beckett would busy with her new responsibilities. He said that things would be a little bit different for Ryan and Esposito, but that it would be a nice change.

"Castle" airs Mondays at 9:00 p.m. EST on ABC.
