'Castle' season 8 episode 20 spoilers: Beckett and Castle investigate a stage actor's death in 'Much Ado About Murder'

Castle and Esposito rush to the crime scene after a play turns into a bloody act in "Castle" season episode 20.ABC

In the midst of the news about Stana Katic's exit from "Castle," the show must go on with the long-running series moving on to the latter episodes of the current season.

Episode 20 of "Castle" season 8 is titled "Much Ado About Murder." It centers on the death of a movie star-turned-thespian, who shows his acting chops with some emotional Shakespeare act.

As if they had the eye for the art themselves, the killers chose a rather dramatic time to perpetrate the crime as they put the poor guy down while performing "Hamlet" on stage.

The team springs into action to find the person responsible. To Castle's shock, they discover that the victim may have dealt with some dangerous drug dealers. The way it was said in the "Castle" season 8, episode 20 promo, the actor may even be a drug lord himself.

As he hunts for the truth, Castle himself is abducted by the drug dealers. Their leader points a gun at Castle's head and challenges him to show his "humility."

"Give me proof of your humility by giving me your life," the man tells Castle as seen in the promo for "Castle" season 8, episode 20. Understandably, the detective is scared stiff.

What's even more shocking is the fact that Castle's mother may somehow be involved in all the mishap. However, from the looks of it, her presence won't be a source of conflict. It will, however, puzzle Castle and impact his disposition in the investigation.

Meanwhile, this "Castle" season 8 episode will stage another "Firefly" reunion with Jewel Staite making an appearance in the installment as the person running the production.

In the past, "Castle" has reunited Nathan Fillon with his "Firefly" co-stars. There have been a lot this season alone, including Summer Glau.

"Castle" season 8, episode 20 "Much Ado About Murder" airs May 2 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
