'Castle' season 8 episode 5 spoilers: Castle, Beckett track down art thief

Husband and wife team up to solve new case in "Castle."Facebook/ABC

Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) will team up to find an art thief in the upcoming episode of the ABC series "Castle."

In "The Nose," Cartermatt reports that there will be a lot of sniffing around as husband and wife track down the person responsible for stealing a priceless work of art. When the piece gets stolen and its transporter murdered, Castle and Beckett must work fast to apprehend the thief before it becomes too late. They must work with the key witness to locate the missing painting and put the killer behind bars.

Last episode, Castle dove head first in solving a case about his murdered favorite author. Dave Johnson (Jeff Davis) was shot dead while kneeling at the altar to ask for forgiveness. While he appeared to be an ill-fated janitor, the victim was apparently writer P.J. Moffat, the author of Castle's favorite novel. Eager to solve the case and impress Beckett with his crime solving skills, Castle secured Johnson's wife, Wendy, as a client.

According to Wendy, her husband was working as a janitor to research a new book about the mafia. However, when Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Esposito (Jon Huertas) tracked down the mobster who allegedly met with Johnson, they discovered that the mafia did not know a Dave Johnson, but had dealings with a Jimmy O'Malley.

Johnson had been meeting a pathological liars support group as Jimmy. His objective was to uncover some crooked union kickbacks. He was also helping a priest to embezzle funds from a city account and gather proof to expose the corruption. However, Castle discovered that the murder was not the work of the corrupt individual, but actually Johnson's wife. Apparently, Wendy was peeved to have wed a faux author, thinking that the victim was really P.J. Moffat.

"Castle" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
