'Castle' season 8: 3 episodes to air in one week

ABC

"Castle" season 8B, which premieres with episode 9 "Tone Death," was moved back a week later and is now scheduled to air on Monday, Feb. 8. However, in a move to keep the show on track, a report from TVLine reveals that the studios are adding an extra episode on Sunday, Feb. 14 and another one on Feb. 15.

The episode on Feb. 8 will focus on the murder of a high school a capella singer. Corbin Bleu of "High School Musical" fame will be appearing as a guest star. Bleu will be playing a singer from a rival group and is speculated to be the main suspect in the murder case.

Instead of making fans wait for a whole week for another episode, "Castle" season 8 episode 10, "Witness for the Prosecution," will air on Feb. 14. This will take the slot formerly reserved for a special telecast of "The Bachelor." This episode will change things up a bit by showcasing audiences what goes on in the courtroom.

Castle (Nathan Fillion) will play a significant player in this episode as he is the titular witness. It is also believed that the trial case will deal with events that unfolded in previous season and it is likely that a few of the problems Castle had to work around will come back to haunt him this time around.

"For the first time ever in 'Castle' history, you go into a court room, you actually see a trial based on a case," explained show runner Alexi Hawley in an interview with TVLine. "He's an interesting guy to give testimony. He has to take the stand -- and it kind of goes sideways. So then there's fallout from that, some scrambling to do damage control!"

Immediately after this episode, on Monday, Feb. 15, "Castle" will continue with episode 11 titled "Dead Red." With this, the series will be back onto its regular schedule of Monday nights.
