Fans of "Castle" finally got their broken hearts mended when the winter finale episode on Monday titled "Mr. & Mrs. Castle" featured the estranged couple back together.

The episode showed Beckett (Stana Katic) telling Castle (Nathan Fillion) the real reason she needed space from their marriage. Castle finally learns that it was all part of Beckett's plan to protect him. This, of course, upset the former because he would have wanted Beckett to be honest about everything.

At the end of the day, the two reconciled and this should prepare the story that's to come in the second half of the season.

Season 8B is expected to show more of Beckett and Castle still fighting it out when in public, but are still very much together when they retreat to their private lives.

According to showrunner Terrence Paul Winter, who revealed to Zap2It, the two characters will put on a show that they've broken up, "but in secret they will be staying together."

"So they'll be sneaking around and sleeping with each other while fighting in public basically," Winter added.

With all the lies and secrets put to the side, co-showrunner Alexi Hawley also revealed to the news portal that Beckett will continue with her investigation on LOCKSAT, together with Vikram (Sunkrish Bala), but Castle will not be involved, although he will know about it.

But Hawley also added that it doesn't mean that Castle will not be "actively involved" with the case, especially when "there's something that becomes actionable to get involved with."

Now that "Caskett" is back, talks of the characters having a baby pop up. When TV Line asked the showrunners about the possibility of Castle and Beckett having a family, both responded a flat-out "no."

"No, there are no plans for a baby," Winter noted in the interview.

Hawley chimed in that the "will they have a baby" question has been thrown at them ever since season 8 began. The showrunner went on to explain that it is a likely storyline for most TV series, but not for "Castle".

"Beckett is so 'boots on the ground,' kicking ass and taking names, it's hard to imagine what a pregnant Beckett solving cases looks like," Hawley said.

"Castle" will be on a winter break, but new episodes will start airing on Feb. 1, 2016 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
