Catholic Youth Services to Gather 4,000 at Oct.06

|TOP|Catholic Youth Services (CYS) is preparing for Oct. 06, one of its biggest events ever.

The role of Oct.06 is to celebrate the part that young Catholics play in the worlds they inhabit, and to nurture them in their counter-cultural pilgrim journeys through life, according to the Catholic Youth Services website.

The event builds on the success of the World Youth Days and is based on a partnership between the diversity of parishes, movements, diocesan youth services, and residential centres that form the Catholic Community in England and Wales.

Over 4,000 young people will unite together at the NIA in Birmingham (and at other smaller venues) for over 24 hours in October this year.

There will be time for speakers, workshops, music, a vigil and liturgy. Oct.06 will be a chance for young Catholics to meet, network, witness and pray together.

The insights of young Catholics in conjunction with those of Bishops and other noted Catholics and opinion-formers will converge and affirm young Catholics and resource the wider Church.

The event is set to be inclusive and should reveal the diversity of young Catholics, between those who live ‘traditional’ and uncomplicated Catholic lives to those who struggle with their faith in their everyday lives.
