The eyes of gadget enthusiasts and technological device watchers are all set on Las Vegas this weekend as the annual Consumer Electronics Show of the Consumer Technology Association is currently happening there.

Samsung, one of the biggest phone manufacturers in the world today, was expected to drop the Samsung Galaxy S7, its next flagship smartphone during its exhibit at the electronics show.

However, the South Korean electronics and consumer electronics product manufacturer chose not to unveil the new smartphone. Instead, it revealed several smart devices like a refrigerator called the Samsung Family Hub that lets users purchase groceries without leaving their homes.

The refrigerator comes with a 21-inch HD Tizen-powered touchscreen that can be used to order groceries from FreshDirect and ShopRite using MasterCard.

The South Korean firm also revealed several new lines of Smart TVs, including the second generation of its SUHD TV product line with curved screens. It also unveiled the new versions of Samsung Gear S2 Classic, including the platinum and rose gold editions as well as the company's first ever 4K Blu-ray player.

Meanwhile, Sony unveiled its latest line of products that are set to launch this year. It includes a 4K action camera called the FDR-AXP55. It reportedly comes with CMOS sensor, which is 1.6 times bigger than its predecessors. It also has a microphone that captures live sound from five different directions which can be used for music recordings.

But just like Samsung, the Japanese brand disappointed the audience when it did not reveal any news about the highly anticipated Sony Xperia Z6.

But for those who are waiting to get any news about the latest smartphone releases, Huawei saved the day by coming up with the exquisite gold edition of the Nexus 6P that will soon be released in the U.S. market, as well as more details about the soon-to-be-released Huawei Mate 8.

The CES 2016 happens until Jan. 9.
