LG will unveil a new line of smart televisions for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018. These new TV line will support Google Assistant and Amazon Echo commands via Alexa skills.

LG has presented smart TV's with artificial intelligence (AI) before, but this will be the first time their TVs will get Google Assistant and Alexa integration out of the box.

With Google Assistant, LG's TVs will be able to communicate with other Google home devices. Commands like "search for the soundtrack of this movie" or "turn off the TV when this program is over" will be recognized. The new TVs can also be a central hub for all Google Home smart devices.

Similar functionalities will be available for Amazon Echo with Alexa, although the commands will be limited compared to Google Assistant. Turning the power on and off via voice commands is not supported for Echo and Alexa devices.

Meanwhile, LG's devices have their own AI protocols via the company's own ThinQ AI.

ThinQ is the company's own developed AI system, and is one of the most important components that make the voice commands work.

The new line of LG TVs may have support for Google Assistant and Alexa now, but it will most likely still run on LG's stock operating system based on webOS.

The new LG TVs also comes with a new high end processor. Called the Alpha 9, this processor is the engine that lets these high resolution monitors to run at a constant 120 frames per second (FPS). It can also handle processing high dynamic range (HDR) images, bringing even more life to each individual color on the screens.

The prices for the TVs will be unveiled on CES 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is likely that the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) models will be on the pricey side, but the ones with liquid crystal display (LCD) will be cheaper alternatives.
