Chaos for Christian Missionary School in Bomb Hoax Threat

A Christian missionary school in India was the scene of chaos this week after a telephone call reporting a bomb threat on the education establishment.

The missionary school and a community centre, which are attached to the Sahaya Matha Church in the Palakarai area of the city, were plunged into panic following the bomb threat call, but the threat was later identified as a hoax.

Police suspect the hoax to be the work of some parents of students attending the school.

Many parents were allegedly angered over the recent decision made by the school management not to declare a holiday on 'Teachers' Day', which took place on Wednesday.

Following the threatening phone call to the school, the staff immediately contacted the police.

Upon arrival at the missionary school police searched the premises as well as the connected community centre, but found no sign of any explosives.

Following the threat, the school's representatives decided to declare the day a holiday, police added.
