A preseason unbeaten streak will be tested today, Monday, when the Charlotte Hornets put their 5–0 record on the line hosting the Chicago Bulls at the Time Warner Cable Arena.

The Hornets are doing great in the preseason despite not having one of their best defensive players in forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist who will miss time due to a shoulder injury.

In their most recent win, Buzz City handed the New York Knicks their first defeat of the preseason for a 97–93 victory.

Center Al Jefferson again led the Hornets in scoring having 12 points, together with two rebounds in 16 minutes of action.

Charlotte's ninth-overall pick in this year's draft from Wisconsin, center Frank Kaminsky III, had an impressive showing against the Knicks having 11 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block.

Guard Jeremy Lamb, who was traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder in the offseason, added 10 points, seven rebounds, and two assists in the win over New York.

Meanwhile, the Bulls are riding a two-game losing streak entering their matchup against the undefeated Hornets.

Chicago is currently at 2–3 and were dominated by the Detroit Pistons 114–91 in their last preseason outing which took place Wednesday.

Leading Chicago was guard E'Twaun Moore who scored 16 points, with three rebounds, four assists, and one block.

Veteran playmaker Aaron Brooks followed with 13 points, also having one rebound, one assist, and three steals.

The Bulls were also helped on offense by forwards Doug McDermott and rookie Bobby Portis who tallied 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Chicago is still playing without former Most Valuable Player (MVP) point guard Derrick Rose who suffered an orbital fracture in their first practice last Sept. 29 and had surgery the next day.

Rose already returned to practice last week wearing a mask to protect the injury but is still uncertain for their season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Oct. 27.

The game between the Hornets and Bulls will be held today, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here.
