Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) turned into a completely different person by the end of "Chicago PD" season 3. The tragic turn of the case that eventually led to his son's death changed the sergeant forever.

Executive producer Matt Olmstead told TV Line that in "Chicago PD" season 4, fans are "going to see a different side of [Hank] because he goes from short fuse to no fuse."

In "Chicago PD" season 4, Hank, who shot the man that gave his son Justin (Josh Segarra) the injuries that eventually killed him, feels the need to right his wrongs.

"Is the net of doing that somewhat more direct, possibly brutal?" Olmstead mused, teasing that Hank will be very different in "Chicago PD" season 4 compared to how he was in season 3.

Hank's turnaround will have Lindsay (Sophia Bush) keep him in check or at least get him as far away from anything that will destroy his life or end it.

The mourner's change of behavior will also cause his closest associate Antonio (Jon Seda) torn between doing his job and being a friend to him—two things he can't do both come "Chicago PD" season 4.

In the next season, Burgess (Marina Squerciati) will be looking for a new partner after Roman (Geraghty) left his job in "Chicago PD" season 3 after being stuck in the office dealing with paperwork instead of going after criminals.

Roman tried to convince Burgess to come with her but Burgess is too much of a cop to abandon her job. But Olmstead teased that part of the latter opting against leaving her profession for Roman is her lack of "an objective assessment" of their relationship because she is simply not over her breakup with Ruzek (Patrick Flueger).

The status of Burgess and Roman's relationship coming to "Chicago PD" season 4 will be the opposite of that of Lindsay and Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) as the two will finally move in together.

"Chicago PD" season 4 is expected to premiere this fall on NBC.
