The struggling Chicago Bears might get the help they need on offense as running back Matt Forte is looking forward to playing this Thursday against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

Forte has missed the Bears' past three games because of a medial collateral ligament (MCL) sprain, but the veteran is ready for Week 12 action.

In a report by ESPN, Forte said he could have played in their 17–15 loss last Sunday to the Denver Broncos but something may have happened that will prevent him from playing this Thursday versus division rival Green Bay.

Playing in seven games this 2015 season, the 29-year-old has 136 carries for 548 yards and two touchdowns.

"I'm excited just to get back out there. Not really a lot of fun watching the games and doing all that and not be able to help your team win, so I'm not really used to doing that," Forte said, according to ESPN

He added, "But it's going to be fun to get back out there on the field and help us out. Just looking forward to being out there."

It is the first time in three seasons that Forte missed action for Chicago. In the past two seasons he played in all 32 regular season games, and in his entire National Football League (NFL) career have shown durability as an athlete.

Now, Forte will be working alongside Bears rookie running back Jeremy Langford who has been playing well in his first season in the NFL.

In 10 games played this season, the 23-year-old drafted out of Michigan State has 78 carries for 250 yards and five touchdowns.

The return of Forte will boost the offense of the Bears and is a huge help for quarterback Jay Cutler.

Chicago is currently third in the National Football Conference (NFC) North with a 4–6 record, behind the Packers and the Minnesota Vikings which both hold a 7–3 record; the last spot belongs to the Detroit Lions at 3–7.
